Thanks again
Extra thanks to Clare for everything that's she's
shown me. Thanks to Lizzo for the seance vocals,
we'll get there in the end!!! and thanks to
Lauren, you did a really good job considering you
had no practice!!! I can't wait to here it all
down. Thanks to James and Darren for being there!
Oh and of course thanks Troy for bringing it all
together!!!!! I've now got the mammoth task of
getting every thing together. I'll keep you
posted!!

Seance
Let your imagination run wild with the vocals.
I've realised how big you imagination is. Quote
on your lead in page the Unity Calling
interpretation of Seance. It's about contacting
the living spirits. Take as long as you want. It
would be great if it was the Summer Dance tune
|
This tune is really coming alive with these new
vocals, I'm still working on Laurens, there's a
lot involved. Not easy juggling this with my job
and everything!!!! I've used a choir effect on
her voice when the lyric changes to "it's not
only us here" it sounds great

re Vocals
Cool, I feel it is going the right way again. We
did good work on Friday. Really extend your
imagination. This is a space age tune and what
ev you can do with vocals to fit them into a
space age sound will be cool.

Still at it
Yeah still working on the vocals, mostly
processing to get them to sound their best. Run
into some problems but getting around it!! It's
getting there. Still yet to upload an updated
version, I like to keep everyone in suspense!!!

de-rusting
i have walk many a long road since this track was born and
made many a wrong tern down some ove em . and now thanks
to worm holes and all i find my self back with it in my life .
i must say thoe for a song with an element to contact it shure is
doing so anyway im of to de-rust so i can shine with the team
that is NOW and no more distant ...thank all the gods for making
worm holes ... lizo x

Update
Cool, sounds good, I will have a look when I get
a chance. Just to keep everyone in the picture,
I've done all I want to do on this track at the
moment, I believe Troy has given Lauren an
instrumental version of the track so she can get
an idea of what she wants to do with the vocals.
Lauren had no practice at all on our previous
studio session so it was a probally a bit
difficult for her, she has got a beautiful voice
and I would really like to show people it in this
track.

a sonic underlay under the kick. it will make it

That is a banging mix john. Just need a 3.5 min
version for the video. Sliced up from the 6.30
version with vocals. Haven't heard back from
steve (video) yet

I had a random thought about the video on the way
to work two seconds later I saw a small beetle
walking accross the pavement infront of me, I
havn't seen one since

Sonic Advancement
Ok, I've been busy for a couple of days, all this
hard work has given me another cold!! But I'm
nearly over it now. Got rid of all the bugs in
my system, I've reinstalled windows and all my
hardware and software... took me 3 days!! I've
gone back to the original composite vocal edit
and removed the EQ and the de-esser I was using,
the quality is now amazing. I've had to take out
the Roland arpegiator as it sounded too dirty,
I'm replacing it with a sound from Z3ta(Amazing
plug in!) also I'm working on a new bass line for
the whole thing to sit on, the processor is now
giving me grief so I've had to freeze a lot of
the channels. Also I've discovered a very
important feature on Cubase - VST Delay
compensation, it's a little button that when
pressed compensates for every delay that each VST
effect/instrument gives thus meaning the hats,
snares and kicks are really tight over the
percussion I've used... All that time and I've
never knew that was even there!!! Just got to
put it all together now, sometimes the only way
forward is taking a few steps back. Oh and the
MPH mix has a few gaps that need work plus the
bottom end needs compression, I've tried it and
it makes a lot of difference. I will make a note
next to it on the site when it has been updated.

Oh, yeah one more thing, I've installed the
latest driver for my sound card which is making
things run a bit smoother now.... Never say
Never.... Negativity = Negativity, Positivity =
Positivity, ya get me?

the right direction. Music , (other mixes) The
artwork plus the icing on the cake.. the DVD
that steve is doing. 23rd november we started
all this and when we think we cant improve
things any more we realise we can...But we are
nearly there. good work everyone

well done to Jaywes and deeko going back to back
on trancemixers. They played U4IC vs Steve Birch
mix, and it came across strong. Of that I got
them a slot on another Internet radio station.
John they play on Mondays now at 10pm, so their

Sleep, noisy people
Nearly finnished this now, i need sleep!!! I've
got a crowd of people in my lounge playing loud
music. funky house, good stuff, when the times
right!!! I should go and play the bongos, but I'm
worried I might end up drumming all night!! hard life

The bass end on MPH seems to be a bit messy, like
there's no kick to it, it seems to be one
continuous sound\rumble... I'm gonna add some
clever compression to it to see if I can get it
pumping... Yeah yeah, I know, Mr compression!!
ha ha. I still have a few tricks up my sleve.
